DIY Hair Clips from Julies Blog

Last night I came across the amazing ‘Julie’s Blog‘ where she had a post on how to actually make a  flower hair clip and heart hair clip all be yourself [tutorial]. I became so nostalgic after going through them. My mom used to make rubber bands and hair clips for me and my sister when we were kids, and for the same I couldn’t stop myself from sharing it with you guys. Maybe someday somebody might try it out for their beautiful daughters.

All you need is:

  1. Scissors
  2. Paper and 5 quarters (to make the template)
  3. Lots of colours of felt (make sure you get yellow for the flower centre)
  4. Needle and thread
  5. Hot glue gun
  6. Hair clips, or pins for the backing

Step 1: Make the template. You need a five petal flower.
Step 2: Cut 4 flowers (per hair clip) and 2 yellow circles for the center.
Step 3: Fold it like a cardboard box, but with felt, and fake petals..
Step 5: Sew both yellow circles together
Step 6: Sew flower center onto flower. Make sure to only sew through the first layer of the center.
Step 7: Glue a hair clip or a pin to the back of the flower.
And your flower hair clip is ready.
