You’re just in time for summer. With the heat and the sweat trickling down, the last thing you need is a pair of tight jeans and body hugging tops suffocating you. Toss them away and put on your cut off shorts to get the slightly rebellious sense of cool! A few tips for pulling off one of the season’s coolest—and sometimes the trickiest—wardrobe options.
Lets start with the basic denim cut offs. These shorts are easy to wear and go with almost everything. If you want to DIY them, take a pair of scissors to an old pair of jeans, cut them at the knee, then snip off inches, bit by bit, until you get the length you want.
Don’t go too short with the shorts. There is nothing sexy about revealing more than you should and trust me, heat will not be enough as an excuse. Hitting the beach in a bikini? Of course YES! Flaunting your panty shorts, on the other hand, is a definite NO.
Beware of balloon shorts. There is nothing uglier than wide shorts that make you hips look even wider. To flatter hips and thighs, try a dark pair that fits close (but not too tight) to the body.
Do balance out your straight leg shorts with a billowy top. Indulge in summer whites or try out some cool shades to get the fun and playful upshot. Transform your look from cute to naughty by experimenting with teasing neck lines and single shoulders.
3. Add ons:
Add the finishing touches to your cool and hip summer outfit by putting on a trendy pair of shades, and encircling your wrist with a cool watch. You can also add a pearl or beaded chain to add girly effect. Don’t forget to take your fancy umbrella and apply your sunscreen if you want to avoid a tomato tan.
Keep yourself far away from looking passé, revamp your everyday wardrobe hassle into a pleasurable ritual and watch yourself being transformed into the everyday fashionista by incorporating one or two of the suggested outfits in your list.
