Its been ages since I last posted. Too much work in the office, and along with that I had to spend a couple of days in the hospital looking after my brother… what better reason can I have for being irregular with my blog?
In the midst of all these I was invited for the wine trial event on 6th of July, by Four Seasons at The Conclave, Kolkata. The session started at 3 in the evening and lasted for 3 and half hours. And this 3 and half hours converted me, a dumb very-occassional-wine-drinker into a wine guru (:P) and the credit for this transformation goes to Mr PPK Mitter, the Region Manager – Trade Marketing of UB Group.
The slides and presentation helped me enlighten myself with a huge amount knowledge about wine, the different types of it – White and Red, about wineries and the vineyards, about how wine is made, how it is stored and finally how it is drunk.
Who can rule these wild girls when they are together and have a glass of wine on their tables?
We were served with five varieties of Four Seasons Wine namely the Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Blush, Merlot, and the Cabernet Sauvignon of the Reserve Barriques range. I had the Sauvignon Blanc for the first time. It was a dry white wine and quite not my type. Viognier is also a white wine which tasted a lot better than Sauvignon Blanc. In the midst of white and red wine comes the Blush which is a Rosé Wine. And the last two wines Merlot, and the Cabernet Sauvignon are both red wines and are quite better than the all of the above. So from the list Cabernet Sauvignon is my favorite. The wines were served with delicious veg and non-veg starters. You can also check more about the Four seasons on their Facebook Page.
Above all, all the City bloggers were certified as seasoned wine trial traveler and I am one of them. Yay!
And all my fellow readers, next time you organize a wine party make sure that I am in (:P). Have a lovely day and don’t forget to leave your comments below.
